Dear Jeff,

As you’ve seen, New Yorkers are committed to making their city a place where everyone contributes their fair share, where everyone has a say over their own future, and where neighbors look out for each other, no matter what they look like or where they come from. And Amazon has shown it refuses to play by these rules.

It turns out these feelings aren’t unique to New York. They apply to Newark and Northern Virginia, to Dallas and Denver, to Chicago and Columbus and communities in between.

So now that Amazon is considering pulling out of New York City and seeking a different place to expand your empire, you can leave us off your list. Our cities are for the many, and we’re committed to making them places where our families thrive, where working people get a fair return on our work, and where we pitch in together for a better future for us all.

Sincerely,
